FAQs

What is included with a pool fence panel kit?

Weatherables® pool fence panel kits include the rails, pickets, and assembly components needed to build one fence panel. Posts, post caps, and Fast2K concrete alternative are sold separately unless otherwise stated on the product page.

Are fence posts included?

Pool fence panels and gate kits do not include posts. Posts are sold separately so you can purchase the appropriate line, corner, end, or gate posts needed for your fence layout.

How do I know which posts I need?

The required posts depend on your fence layout. Line posts are used between panels, end posts are used at the beginning and end of a run, corner posts are used where the fence changes direction, and gate posts are used for gate installations. Learn about fence layout and post installation.

How far apart are the pickets and rails spaced?

Picket and railing spacing varies by fence style. Refer to the product specifications for exact spacing measurements and to determine whether the fence meets local code requirements.

Can I install a pool fence myself?

Yes. Weatherables® pool fence systems are designed for DIY installation and include detailed installation instructions.

Are installation instructions available?

Yes. Installation instructions are available online and can be accessed through the product page or our installation resources section.

What hardware is needed to mount a fence panel to a wood deck?

Deck mounting typically requires surface-mount brackets rated for the panel's weight and material, rather than in-ground post installation. Confirm bracket compatibility with your specific panel style.

Can I install a pool fence using existing wood posts?

Our fence systems are designed for the rails to lock into routed posts. If using existing posts, you will need to cut the rail lengths shorter and use mounting hardware, which will need to be purchased separately.

Can pool fence panels be cut to fit my width?

Weatherables®pool fence panels can be cut to accommodate shorter width fence runs. Refer to the specific product's installation instructions for modification guidelines.

What on-center post spacing is required for installation?

On-center spacing depends on the panel width of the specific product. Refer to the specific product's installation instructions to ensure proper fit.

Can pool fence panels be used on an elevated surface, like a second-story deck?

No. For this type of installation, we recommend looking at our railing options

What is included with a gate kit?

Gate kits include the gate panel and installation hardware. You still need to separately order posts to hinge and latch your gates to.

Are gate posts included?

No. Gate posts need to be purchased separately and must be selected based on the gate size and application.

Can a gate be converted into a sliding gate?

Standard gates are designed for fixed installation and may not be rated for the added stress of sliding hardware. Converting one for sliding use is not recommended.

Is the gate a single solid panel, or made up of individual pickets?

This varies by design. Some gates are one-piece welded units; others use individually inserted pickets. Check the specific product description for construction details.

Can gate widths be modified?

Your gate can be modified on site before assembly by cutting down the rails for the width needed.

Does this fence meet pool code requirements?

These are designed to meet national BOCA code but pool fence requirements vary by municipality and state. Always verify local regulations before purchasing and installing a fence around a pool.

What is the spacing between pickets for code compliance?

Picket spacing varies by fence style. Refer to the product specifications and local building codes to ensure compliance for your application. All pool styles are less than 4 inches between pickets.

Can vinyl pool fencing be painted?

We do not recommend painting vinyl fencing products. That will void your warranty.

What colors are available?

See your selected pool fence style for available colors.

How do you repair scratches in vinyl fencing?

Minor surface scratches are typically cosmetic and may be wiped off with soap and water. Deeper gouges may require part replacement.

Can vinyl fencing withstand high heat without warping?

Our vinyl fencing contains UV inhibitors that help minimize warping and maintain appearance for years. Your warranty does cover excessive warping over time. Please refer to your warranty for additional information.
