Vinyl Privacy Fencing

Our vinyl privacy fence panel kits include all rails, pickets/infill boards, U-channels where needed,  and the components required to assemble one panel. Vinyl fence posts, post caps, and post-setting materials are sold separately unless the product page states otherwise.

Most privacy fence panel kits do not include posts. Posts are sold separately, so you can order the right combination of line, end, corner, blank, and gate posts for your layout. Check the options on your selected vinyl privacy fence before ordering.

Use line posts between panels, end posts at the beginning and end of a run, corner posts where the fence changes direction, and reinforced gate posts around openings. Weatherables vinyl fence posts are routed for specific fence styles and heights, so make sure each post matches the panel you select.

Most Weatherables vinyl privacy fence panels are available in 6- or 8-foot widths. An 8-foot panel covers about 8 linear feet, though exact installed dimensions vary by fence style and post placement. Check the product specifications before calculating how many panels you need.

Yes. Weatherables vinyl privacy fence systems are designed for DIY installation. Having two people available can make it easier to handle larger 6- or 8-foot panels and keep posts level. Review the installation and care resources before you begin. 

Printed instructions are not included in the shipment. Current instructions and videos are available through the product page and Weatherables’ installation and care center. Review the guide for your specific fence style because post spacing and assembly steps may vary.

Yes. Many privacy fence systems can be installed using either a stepped or racked installation method, depending on the product and site conditions. Check the product instructions to confirm which method is supported.

Yes. A vinyl privacy fence can be installed on concrete using surface-mount hardware or a post-mounting system. The concrete must be thick and structurally sound enough to support the fence. Follow the product-specific instructions and local code requirements before drilling or setting anchors.

For most in-ground installations, we recommend setting vinyl fence posts in concrete or an approved alternative such as Fast 2K. Properly secured posts improve stability and long-term performance. Required hole depth and diameter depend on fence height, soil conditions, frost depth, and local code.

Depending on your installation, you will need posts, post caps, Fast2K concrete alternative, and basic tools such as a level, a string line, a tape measure, and a post-hole digger. Gates, post inserts, or mounting hardware may also be needed depending on the layout.

Yes. Weatherables vinyl privacy fence panels can be cut to fit shorter sections or the end of a fence run. Refer to the specific product's installation instructions for guidelines on modifications.

We do not recommend cutting a privacy fence panel shorter. The posts are routed for specific rail locations, so shortening the panel can prevent the rails from aligning correctly. Instead, choose a vinyl privacy fence offered in the height you need. 

No. Stacking vinyl fence panels can reduce stability because the posts, rails, and reinforcements are designed for a specific height. Weatherables offers privacy fence styles up to 8 feet tall, though available heights vary by style.

All of our vinyl privacy fences 6 feet or shorter can be installed to withstand sustained winds of 110 mph and gusts up to 130 mph. Wind performance depends on following the specified post depth, spacing, reinforcement, and installation instructions.

Yes. Our vinyl fencing contains UV inhibitors that help resist fading, discoloration, and weathering. Unlike a wood fence, it does not require routine painting, staining, or sealing. Cleaning usually requires only soap, water, and occasional rinsing. Review the vinyl cleaning instructions for care tips.

Gate kits include the gate panel components and the installation hardware listed on the product page. Posts are sold separately, and reinforced gate posts or inserts may be required to support the hinges and latch. Confirm the opening width and swing direction before ordering. 

No. Gate posts need to be purchased separately and must be selected based on the gate size, fence style, and installation. A typical gate requires one hinge post and one latch post. Use the recommended reinforced posts or metal inserts to support the gate’s weight and repeated movement.

Yes. Many vinyl fence gates can be narrowed before assembly by cutting the horizontal rails to the needed width. Measure the finished opening after the gate posts are installed and leave the required clearance for the hinges and latch. Follow the gate kit instructions before making any cuts.

We do not recommend painting vinyl fencing products. Paint may not bond well to the smooth surface, and dark colors can retain heat and increase the risk of warping. Painting your vinyl fence will also void its warranty. Learn more in our guide to painting and choosing a vinyl fence color. 

Available colors depend on the vinyl fence style. Options may include white, tan, khaki, gray, black, cedar, and coastal gray. Some colors are limited to specific designs or heights, so check your selected vinyl privacy fence for current choices.

Our vinyl fencing contains UV inhibitors that help minimize fading and maintain appearance for years. Some gradual color change may occur with prolonged outdoor exposure, but excessive fading may be covered under the applicable warranty.
